Why is Schumacher mentionned in the Belgium race?

edit

Sure it was his first race, but at the time he wasn't an important player in F1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.82.155.2 (talk) 08:19, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Are you perhaps thinking of the wrong year? Schumacher's first race was the 1991 Belgian GP. By the time of the 1992 Belgian GP, Schumacher was a regular front-runner with six podiums under his belt and was lying fourth in the championship. DH85868993 (talk) 02:27, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
And indeed he won the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix, which is a fairly good reason to mention him :) Brickie (talk) 13:29, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why isn't the new technology of the Williams team highlighted in this season?

edit

the Williams team's use of advanced computer control systems was a first for F1 racing, and gave them a clear advantage and path to the chapionship, so it's something which should be mentioned on this page for competeness's sake. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.108.65.189 (talk) 10:11, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

One of Williams advances by 1992 was the perfection of active ride suspension, a technology pioneered by Lotus six years earlier. Advanced computer control systems had been widely used across Formula for a decade. Apart from the Continuously Variable Transmission, there was nothing revolutionary about the Williams FW14B, indeed it was not even a new design, having been adapted from the 1991 Williams FW14. Its dominance in part drew from Benetton and Ferrari losing touch with Williams.
It was an evolutionary car, rather than revolutionary. --Falcadore (talk) 13:14, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Damon Hill mention in intro

edit

He literally isnt relevant to the season why is he given an entire nod in the images that are usually reserved for the championship standings? 2603:7000:AC00:818F:219F:BA7C:A484:33DE (talk) 19:26, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I moved the image to the section that deals with driver changes. SSSB (talk) 21:50, 4 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Williamses?

edit

Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else (it's not mentioned on the Williams Talk page), but when referring to both Williams cars, is "Williamses" proper English? It reads horribly. A number of times in this article, editors have used "the Williamses" whereas "both Williams" might read a bit better in all contexts. It's only a minor thing, and I guess my question is as much my own curiosity as it is about the accuracy of the article. Thoughts? Ck786 (talk) 11:24, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Williamses is correct. But it does read horribly (as does Mercedeses) so I always say "Williams cars" instead. SSSB (talk) 15:24, 18 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Black text on black background?

edit

In the section where it says the results of all the races, when there is a disqualification there is white text on a white background but on the key it just shows black text on a black background(as all of the others have black text despite colored backgrounds it might have caused this error). I don't know if it shows up as an issue for anyone else though. Do any of you all have this same issue? Bobbingbob (talk) 23:42, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Bobbingbob: It displays as white text on a black background in the key for me. DH85868993 (talk) 06:02, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
