Why is there no mention of Mossad involvement?
editIt is a well-known fact among international observers that this was a false flag attack and that the two people sent to jail over it were completely innocent.
This article is incredibly reductive, as always with Israel-related topics.
Further information:
- The Guardian article MI5 'Hid' Reports on Embassy Bombing
- Former MI5 officer and whistleblower Annie Machon testified in a 2009 interview with Jack Etkin that the senior MI5 officer leading the investigation into the bombing stated in his formal assessment that the attack was carried out by Mossad, Israel's external security agency.
Proposed merge with Jawad Botmeh
editThis seems to be a BLP1E - usually we would merge and redirect an article like this to the main article for the event, unless there was significant biographical information - (there doesn't seem to be in this case) Seraphim System (talk) 23:04, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Samar Alami
editSame reasoning as Jawad Botmeh Seraphim System (talk) 23:05, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
- Agree in both cases - neither of them have any notability other than being convicted of this. Jim Michael (talk) 15:53, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Jim Michael and Seraphim System: Given no opposition, I have merged the two biographies to this article, in addition to its expansion. SFB 20:16, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
Corrections
editI cannot edit due to its protected status but just to point out the site of the second car bomb, Balfour House, is in North North Finchley not Finchley (Central) as described and linked to in the article. Indeed, the Balfour House bomb is mentioned in the existing Wikipedia entry for North Finchley. CatNip48 (talk) 10:22, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
Samar was also released
editThe article only mentions Jawad being released from prison but so was Samar, she was released in April of 2009 and then deported back to Lebanon. This is the source, http://www.labournet.net/other/0906/samarjawad1.html 100.15.87.77 (talk) 15:35, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
