• Oppose: While well-meaning, this is a very poor idea in the context of WP, and should not be done with regard to any sporting articles. The sponsor-laden form of the event's name should appear as a secondary, boldfaced name in the lead, of course, and should exist as a redirect. But the problem is that it is overwhelmingly more likely that readers will come looking for information about who sponsored which event which year than already possessing such details in their minds. Sporting and other event articles should be at the most not least generic name possible. Any additional comments:

• The problem with the argument above - WP:CUESPELL - lies within it; one, that it is destined to be but is not Wikipedian policy, and two, that it is only applicable to snooker tournaments. The subject here is tennis, and, via an examination of other major tennis tournament articles such as those for the Indian Wells Masters, the Miami Masters and the Paris Masters, it is clear that tennis articles use the sponsored name rather than a clumsy generic name for each. Using these sponsored names improves the accuracy of Wikipedia by recognising that the tournaments were not generically named - only in the cases of tournaments where no sponsor has been found is a generic-esque name used. After all, Wikipedia is all about being as accurate as possible. Totalinarian (talk) 16:41, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Tournament Location - men played in Montreal

I attended the men's tournament. It took place at Parc Jarry in Montreal, and probably before the name of the stadium changed to whatever it is now.
