Introduction

edit

The reference to war on terrorism as in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the wider global war on terrorism really ought to be linked to the Wikipedia page on War on Terror because the use of the expression is considered by many tendentious and political and further that Iraq was not genuinely targeted for that reason. At the very least "Global War on Terror" should be in quotes, the more so since its use seems to be fading out. A link avoids having to engage this contentious subject here. Activated at Carrickfergus?

edit

The wiki page on the [75th_Ranger_Regiment] states: "The 1st Ranger Battalion was organized and activated on June 19, 1942, at Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland."

Modern Rangers

edit

Why is there barely any mention of the 1st Ranger Battalion and their missions in Grenada, Panama and the Ops they are on now? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.178.7.88 (talk) 10:23, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

This page has no reference to that, only to Scotland - does anyone have some firm information on the origins of the 1st Ranger Battalion?Starviking (talk) 12:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

disambig not required

edit

THe disambiguation (United States) seem unnecessary, but looking at the history I see the article was moved here in 2006 to meet "new standards". This seems to go against conventional Wikipedia disambig procedures. Jooler (talk) 21:39, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alternatively, you may request that the link is removed from or altered on the blacklist locally or globally. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. Please do not remove the tag until the issue is resolved. You may set the invisible parameter to "true" whilst requests to white-list are being processed. Should you require any help with this process, please ask at the help desk.
