Move
editThis was moved, without discussion, to a German title. I've moved it back, per WP:TITLE and WP:UE, as the English form is correct here. Xyl 54 (talk) 23:48, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- Help me out here. I have been trying to get some sort of structure into this affair. As I pointed out elsewhere I do not have any preferences regarding the use of one language or the other. All I am looking for is to have one or the other used consistently within this project. As there are currently 32 pages in the Category:U-boat flotillas, and only three (four if you count the list) of them use English titles, there seems to be a strong preferences of German language titles. I would like to discuss that with the wider scope in mind, as I would hate to have this discussion on each of the other 31 articles in the category.
- I am happy to move the other articles either way, we just need to agree on which way to go. --FJS15 (talk) 04:58, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- I hadn’t realized it was so one-sided. But the guidelines are clear enough; we should use an English-language format unless there is a pressing reason not to. In this case the German title equates merely to 1st U-Boat Flotilla, so it isn’t as if the name has any significance in the original. So my preference would be to move them all to an English format.
- But your point about 30-odd separate discussions is well taken; I’ve raised the issue here to see if there is any objection to doing that. Xyl 54 (talk) 23:28, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- OK, I've made a start. Xyl 54 (talk) 00:08, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- And I moved the rest. --FJS15 (talk) 07:05, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
