Technical review
edit- Citations: The Citation Check tool reveals no issues with reference consolidation (no action req'd).
- Disambiguations: no dab links [3] (no action req'd)
- Linkrot: no dead links [4] (no action req'd)
- Alt text: images lack alt text so you might consider adding it [5] (not a GA requirement, suggestion only).
- Copyright violations: The Earwig Tool reveals no issues with copyright violations or close paraphrasing (seems to be picking up combinations of proper nouns and common words which cannot be avoided) [6] (no action req'd).
- Duplicate links: no duplicate links (no action req'd).
Criteria
edit- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- This is a little repetitive: "...following the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Following the end of the war..." (following twice)
- Perhaps wikilink the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
- " 1943 and subsequently did not see action again until late in the war, when they were committed to the Aitape–Wewak campaign in late 1944." Not sure if "late-1944" quite constitutes "late in the war", there was still considerable fighting of course (in my mind at least sometime in 1945 would constitute "late in the war"). Maybe reword? (minor nitpick happy to leave it if you disagree).
- G'day, I changed "late" to "later". I think that works. AustralianRupert (talk) 03:15, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- "...including Lake Koggala, Weligama, Matara, Tangalla and Hambantota." some of these places should probably be wikilinked.
- "...The battalion concentrated at the Nagambie Road Camp initially..." Do we know where this is? I'm assuming Victoria. Perhaps wikilink if a suitable link exists.
- Yes, it's near Seymour. Done these. AustralianRupert (talk) 03:15, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
- Article is well referenced with all major points cited to WP:RS.
- No issues with OR that I could see.
- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- "...the 2/6th took part in the first action of the war by Australian ground forces, the Battle of Bardia..." perhaps mention who they were fighting?
- I think the bn's casualties for each campaign (where significant) should probably be included. These are available in Johnston The Proud Sixth. Do you have access to this at the moment? If not I could probably add these if you agree they need to be included.
- G'day, unfortunately I don't have it any more, so if you could dig the reference out that would be most appreciated. AustralianRupert (talk) 03:15, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- I've added this information now from Johnston - pls review and let me know if you are happy with how this has been done. Anotherclown (talk) 04:01, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding that, looks good. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 05:11, 25 October 2014 (UTC)

- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- a (fair representation): b (all significant views):
- No issues I could see.
- It is stable.
- No edit wars etc.:
- No issues here.
- It contains images, where possible, to illustrate the topic.
- a (tagged and captioned): b (Is illustrated with appropriate images): c (non-free images have fair use rationales): d public domain pictures appropriately demonstrate why they are public domain:
- Images seem to be free / PD and most have the req'd information / templates.
- One possible issue: Is the CCC licence correct with: File:Australian Owen gun exercise, April 1944, Queensland.jpg?
- Updated the licence. AustralianRupert (talk) 03:15, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yes that's what I was after, thanks. Anotherclown (talk) 04:01, 25 October 2014 (UTC)

- Captions look ok.
- Also is there an image available for the Bn's service in New Guinea? If not its not a big issue, its just that most of the images seem to be of training in AS.
- Added an image of the mortars from HQ Coy in New Guinea. There wasn't much to choose from at the AWM that I could see. AustralianRupert (talk) 03:15, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- That works for me. Thanks. Anotherclown (talk) 04:01, 25 October 2014 (UTC)

- Overall:
- a Pass/Fail:
- Looks quite good, just a couple of points above. Anotherclown (talk) 02:10, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I think I've got everything except the casualties. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 03:15, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- Nearly there, if you could just check my addition that would be appreciated. Thanks. Anotherclown (talk) 04:01, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
- They look great, cheers. AustralianRupert (talk) 05:11, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
