Question

edit

This race is purely for three year old colts, why are fillies mentioned as being allotted 8 stone 9 ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.47.59.117 (talk) 13:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's open to both colts and fillies. The 1,000 Guineas is restricted to fillies only. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:54, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Don't Make Me Do Math!!

edit

i realize guineas is a historical unit, but can't we have an equivalent for the modern prize? that is, "...both the 2000 guineas and the 1000 guineas offer the same prize money. in 2011 it was 350,000 pounds (WHICH IS ACTUALLY XXX GUINEAS)".

up until when did the prize actually match the name(s)? this really needs to be in the article.

Title

edit

The race is usually called the 2000 Guineas, without the comma. Two Thousand Guineas is acceptable. 2,000 Guineas isn't. Will change unless someone comments adversely. Tigerboy1966  20:23, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Having done some checking I agree. The 1000 Guineas article also has a comma and should be changed. Orenburg1 (talk) 18:16, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Given that the 1000 Guineas has been moved now, is it time to move the 2000 as well? --Bcp67 (talk) 19:46, 13 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Moving to 2000 Guineas after discussion at WP:Horse racing. --Bcp67 (talk) 19:50, 27 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
