Bracket

edit

I noticed the PDF file you had linked for awhile containing the ACC's version of the bracket. This is quite possibly the stupidest format to run a tournament EVER... but anyway, I still don't quite understand the format. Is the the 8-team true double elimination bracket satisfactory for this page, or do you need me to try to work something else up? I'm happy to help. Oughgh 21:02, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is very frustrating!!! because it's almost as if the ACC put more priority on teams not repeating matches than actually sticking to the format. Tomorrow I will look over the bracket and figure out what exactly I need. If you noticed, I created a new bracket Template:ACCDoubleElim which basically added in an extra round for the winners bracket. It does a terrible job at explaining how the line of progression works, but I think if we add in some dotted lines, numbered the games the same way the ACC does, and added in some explanation, it'll be more understandable. Thanks again for all your work on this! Jober14 02:40, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I didn't notice the new bracket at first (it looks great!) - I guess that helps at least show who played who. Not sure how much more I/you/we'll be able to do graphically on wikipedia... I think perhaps the best option is to just try and explain as good as possible, and maybe link to the ACC's PDF file to help explain the format (although their depiction isn't entirely logical either). How many years did they use this awful format? Hopefully not too many... Oughgh 03:31, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
2001 is the furthest back I can find an actual visual for the brackets. But the league was 9 members for almost 15 years and I'm afraid they used that format the entire time. I'm still doing research on it but yeah, as much as people have been complaining about the current round-robin format, it could be worse.
