Carla Stovall reason for withdrawing -- correction
editIn the Republican candidates subsection, under "Withdrawn", this article claims that:
- Carla Stovall, Kansas Attorney General (1995-present), dropped out due to getting married and wanting to spend time with her husband's family.
While that is the common impression, throughout the state (and my own impression), that is not validated by any substantial media reports I have been able to find (and the editor, who dropped this tidbit in, didn't offer any reference citation to back up the statement). Per WP:RS (especially as regards articles about living persons), I will remove this unsubstantiated statement, and correct it to reflect Stovall's own public statements on the issue -- with major media ref citations -- saying that, though she was in a fresh romantic relationship (that soon led to marriage), that was not her reason for quitting; instead, she had simply lost her passion for the race, and just didn't want the governor's job any more. Will also note other details with ref cites. ~ Zxtxtxz (talk) 06:20, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
