POV-check

edit

I have added this tag because so far I am the only person writing, and I have admitted time and again that I cannot be 100% partial especially when it comes to Sydney Swans matches. I am hoping someone can take a check to see if it is partial before next week so I can go ahead.

Would we be allowed to use the offical AFL Grand Final logo in Wikipedia or does it have copyright issues? The preceding unsigned comment was added by ThirdEdition (talk • contribs) 06:22, 20 September 2005.

The best place to look is Wikipedia:Logos. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:49, 20 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
I have read Wikipedia:Logos and I am of the opinion that like the Super Bowl, World Series and the AFL club logos that have been used, these come under fair use.

POV

edit

This is a very admirable piece of work, but surely describing players as "best" is POV? In whose opinion? Adam 11:42, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have a feeling they are taken from the AFL website after match stats and information, so its the AFL's POV. I'm not 100% though, i haven't been filling out the page thats just what i assume it would be. Swarve 12:41, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Then it should say so. Adam 13:04, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

There has been an official list of 'best' players for almost all games of senior footy (national, state and local) for as long as I can remember, it's a usual part of the score sheet. Explaining what this means on every score sheet would be like explaining what goals and behinds are every time. --ThirdEdition 01:39, 29 September 2005 (UTC){{subst:image source|Image:2005AFLFinalsSeries.png)) Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 23:28, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:2005AFLFinalsSeries.png

edit

Image:2005AFLFinalsSeries.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
