Line score

The type of home run hit (i.e. grand slam, walk-off, ect...) is not included in line scores. See this line score from mlb.com to see what I mean. [1] --Holderca1 12:59, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

• They do mention how many men were on base at the time of the home run being hit, hence with three on it is considered a grand slam. NoseNuggets 12:14 PM US EDT Oct 26 2005.

Brrrrrrr...

Did anyone else hear anything about Game 2 being one of the coldest World Series Games ever? In a sport obsessed with statistics, could someone check this and put it in the article?

Okay, officially it is not a record. The record was set on October 22, 1997 in Cleveland between the Indians and Marlins, temp was 38 degrees F. The record beofre that was on October 17, 1976 between the Yankees and Reds with a temp of 39 deg F. --Holderca1 16:42, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

Lou Piniella

Someone added in the bit under the TV commentators about Piniella not at the series due to the hurricane. Well I can not find any mention of it, the only thing I did find was an article saying that he will be doing the ALCS. [2] --Holderca1 17:03, 24 October 2005 (UTC)

• I heard during Game One that Pinella was supposed to join McCarver and Buck for the series, but he opted to stay in Florida and wait out Hurricane Wilma, hence the explanation that has been posted (and removed twice). NoseNuggets 12:12 PM US EDT Oct 26 2005.
  • I remember then talking about Piniella during Game 1, but they never said that he was going to be at the Series. But unless you can verify it somehow, it should not be included. --Holderca1 16:28, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
    • IIRC, Buck did say that Pinella was to have been in the booth. And a Fox spokesman did mention he was getting positive feed back during the ALCS. Here's the story to prove it. [3]NoseNuggets 12:44 US EDT Oct 26 2005.

Curse

The curse is 86 yrs old, it started when they lost the 1919 WS. They didn't lose the 1919 WS because of the curse, they lost it because they threw the series. --Holderca1 23:05, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

Another Piece of Trivia

As a Braves fan, I have to put this here: Game 4 of the '05 Series was the first Series-clinching 1-0 game since Atlanta won the 1995 World Series off David Justice's homerun. Hideki Irabu

The trivia section says that Tadahito Iguchi was the first Japanese player to win a world series--but wasn't Hideki Irabu on the Yankees in 1998 and 1999?
