Events table

edit

We are missing absolutely tons of .HC and .1 rated races from the table. We cannot randomly list some, but not others. Either we list all events of a given status, or none. Unless all .HC and .1 events are listed we should remove the table completely because it is giving undue prominence to certain races, per WP:NPOV. --Mais oui! 21:15, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

All races(2.1,1.1,1.HC,2.HC) included. I'm not sure if 'cancelled' races should also be included(such as Vuelta a Aragón). I'm also not sure if we should also add 2.2, 1.2 races. Those are also included in the UCI Europe Tour, although it would be quite a lot of workDrunt 13:27, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Improving article

edit

I've been thinking about a few changes that could improve this article:

  • First of all I was wondering if the "wikitables" used in the article are up to the standards. Could those be improved in any way? We are probably going to use this same table for 2007-2008 season so better to stick with a good style
  • Regarding the name of the article, is it correct? The only place where I've seen the 2006-2007 instead of 2007 UCI Europe Tour is in this wikipedia article and the calendar in the UCI website. Other wikipedias and the main UCI Europe Tour website use 2007 UCI Europe Tour.Example. It's probably not really that important but I see that all UCI Continental Circuits follow the same scheme of 2005-2006/2006-2007/... Maybe this article should be proposed for rename and see what people think?
  • Should Cancelled races be included in this article or just ignore them? Use another table for canceled races? Is the term Cancelled correct or we better use Not held?
  • I will be adding 2.2, 1.2 and NE races in a few days. Although the article will be much longer, those races are also included in the UCI Europe Tour calendar.

I think that's all!-Drunt 21:13, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article could be improved with more prose! I don't think its a good idea adding 1.2, 2.2 and NE events. Yes, they are part of the competition but Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. The competition is 2006-2007—he UCI references it extensively as such—basically as the UCI want all the seasonal competitions to end the day after Lombardy (I think) and do all the presentations then. Of course there are a handful of races after that which count towards the next year (but while people are still at old teams etc). A UCI Nations Cup article could also be a way forward. Just some thoughts. SeveroTC 21:21, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree that more prose would be the best way to improve the article, but my english is not that good! I will try to write some text when this season is over. Regarding minor events I was not sure and that's why I commented it, good to know your POV. Maybe this article should be the one including them: List of road bicycle racing events. After thinking a bit about the name, it's not really that important and seeing that UCI website uses both terms it wouldn't be really an issue. Thanks for the input! -Drunt 22:03, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
