I have had a quick go at changing the tense, tell me if I've missed anything or any specific changes you'd like me to make. Dave101talk  19:59, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Opinion, not Fact

edit

"It also appeared that Essien had tripped Giggs from behind just before his shot, but again Bennett was unmoved." This comes across as a biased opinion on the part of the article writer. Consider changing to something like "Manchester United players claimed that Giggs had been tripped by Essien." The referee had a good view and replays show it probably was not a foul.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.1.172.163 (talkcontribs)

I agree. A fact would be more along the lines of "this match was terrible."

Not quite. That's still more of an opinion than a fact. Tbph, I hope you were being sarcastic. PeeJay 22:49, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I suppose, it's more common knowledge than fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.210.100 (talkcontribs)

More like common opinion than common knowledge. PeeJay 19:04, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Man of the Match

Chelsea's formation ??

edit

Does anyone what formation chelsea played ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Robzzzz18 (talkcontribs)

They played 4-5-1 with the two wingers supporting the lone striker. You could call it a 4-3-3 I suppose. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yatesric (talkcontribs)
Technically it was 4-3-3, but Chelsea played very deep so it was effectively 4-5-1. Dave101talk  09:02, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
They played 4-3-3 --Imran Khan Balouch ... Ţĥё 1Ķβ 06:30, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
The formation is as I described in the team list. Flat back four, one holding midfielder and two more central midfielders in the middle of the park, then two wingers and the striker up top. It was pretty much half-way between 4-5-1 and 4-3-3, due to the wingers being positioned fairly high up the pitch. PeeJay 07:11, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Renaming proposal

edit

I propose renaming this and all other FA Cup Final articles to "YYYY FA Cup Final", rather than "FA Cup Final YYYY" as they are now. This would save on having to pipelink to the articles when referring to them in context, i.e. you would only have to type:

the [[2007 FA Cup Final]]...

rather than:

the [[FA Cup Final 2007|2007 FA Cup Final]]...

Obviously, this would be a pretty big job, what with over 100 articles to do, but I would like to hear people's thoughts on this nonetheless. - PeeJay 17:14, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree, since "2007 FA Cup final" flows better than "FA Cup final 2007". However, as you say, it's a big task and I think you'd be better off raising the issue on the Wikiproject football page. SteveO 17:25, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I have just done that. Cheers for the support. - PeeJay 17:27, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Last chance?

edit

In the article, it says that "Drogba's goal proved to be the last chance", but I clearly recall Kalou going through in the very end of the game, delivering a long range shot just above the top left corner of van der Saar's goal... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.82.224.36 (talk) 01:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Manchester United won 2-1?

edit

In the article it says that Chelsea won 1-0. But in the match details, Man United won 2-1 with two goals by Rooney. Those goals by Rooney appear to be fictional. Maybe a Man United fan added a few goals to win the match after all? 80.79.32.43 (talk) 16:12, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
