More details needed
editNow that it looks like Foster won, can we start filling in the kind of details about the ad campaign each side ran (for example Obama doing a Foster commercial), and some of what national newspapers are saying about it. I know at least one reporter called it a "bellweather" for what will happen in the fall. This is pretty interesting, as some reports were saying this district was pretty much drawn for a republican win. -Aknorals (talk) 02:54, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
State of the Illinois GOP
editSource: "But as much as the win by the little-known Foster reflected voters' desire for the elusive political factor of change, the election to finish out the retired Hastert's term that expires in January also was a referendum on Oberweis. And it symbolized the state of a listless GOP in Illinois that finds itself without a power base and plagued by infighting." (Pearson, Rick, Chicago Tribune, March 10, 2008)
While this does wander a little bit into commentary, I don't see that the text (or any summary writing from the text) is necessarily NPOV. —Rob (talk) 16:43, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
