list of top prospects
editGot rid of that section completely for now. A list was posted of '07 prospects. Previous lists were just highly touted players and such. We should hold off with the top prospects until CSB puts out their prelim or mid-term rankings next season. Bigdottawa 15:58, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- lol. I didn't even realize I was editing the 2008 draft instead of the 2007 draft. Agreed with removing the list entirely until there is a list from CSS or ISS. Resolute 18:26, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Expand tag
editCan the tagger please elaborate on what needs to be expanded. The 2008 draft is well over a year away, there's not much to go on. the 2007 NHL Entry Draft is currently in a state of constant revision, and won't assume a format like 2006 NHL Entry Draft until after the fact. ccwaters 19:05, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Questions about picks shipped from one team to another

Question about compensation picks for Anaheim
editDoes Anaheim get the picks originally owned by Edmonton or one of the respective round picks owned by the Oilers on August 2, 2007?
I'm slightly confused because Edmonton did not own their original 2nd round pick at this date (it has been traded to the New York Islanders on July 5, 2007, see also http://oilers.nhl.com/team/app?articleid=327257&page=NewsPage&service=page "... for the Oilers second round pick in the 2008 draft").
Does anyone have good connections to the NHL, Ducks or Oilers front offices to clear things up? RedWingedUndead 01:28, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Removal of ISS top 30
editWhy was this section removed? The top 30 is available to the public. It can be found at tsn.ca AEJ (talk) 16:33, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
The ISS top 30 is the updated rankings. Why put older rankings? They dont apply anymore.
- The ISS ranking is a commercial product for sale. ISS's sole revenue source is the sale of this scouting information. Reprinting it without permission is a copyright violation, much like reprinting any magazines top 100 lists, etc (purpose is to sell said magazine). I put in NHL Central Scouting rankings: at the very least, its reprint is not cutting into any revenue, although I think its a iffy inclusion itself. If you want we can seek advice over at some copyright talk page. ccwaters (talk) 13:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Top ranked goaltenders
editAre the top ranked goaltenders under "North American Goalies / European Goalies" and under "Top 5 Goaltenders" from the same source? The "Top 5" shows Jakob Markström ahead of Harri Säteri, and Thomas McCollum ahead of Peter Delmas but in the North American ranks, Delmas is ranked ahead of McCollum and in the European ranks, Säteri is ranked ahead of Markström. Why is there a discrepancy? − Twas Now ( talk • contribs • e-mail ) 05:56, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Schedule
editPlease leave this on. It should be trimmed after the event. It is an event, and it should be described. After the event, what went on is a matter of public record and should be kept. I will be attending and will try to provide a photo of the event. Alaney2k (talk) 15:30, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- This page isn't a brochure. The hours of accompanying card shows isn't really encyclopedic. The external link to the Ottawa Draft page is the appropriate resource for that information. ccwaters (talk) 15:40, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Of course. It is an event too, though. Otherwise, Ottawa would not have gotten it for a second time. I trimmed what I think is the fluff. Nowhere else in the article is the information on the times of the draft. Since it is upcoming/current, it is useful. After the event, then remove the schedule and keep the paragraph as a record of the event. The other bit of information that should be added is TV network information. Alaney2k (talk) 16:15, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Seems sketchy - that entire section right now reads like a press release, not an encyclopedia. Leafschik1967 (talk) 02:05, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

French player?
editIn the list of nationalities, France is listed as having one player drafted. I can't find any player in the draft listed as French. Which player is it? AEJ (talk) 16:40, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
