Fair use rationale for Image:PDCworlds2008.jpg

edit

Image:PDCworlds2008.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Championship Average In Stats Section

edit

I have noticed that people are using the latest match as a Statisitc for the 3 dart average. This is incorrect. For example Anthony Forde was listed as 81.84 (his average v Barney) but he only averaged 69.83 in his prelim match = tournament average of 75.84. Please use the updated list http://www.teessidesoftware.no-ip.com/DartsDatabase/EventStats.aspx?EventKey=425 to ensure the correct stats are entered

Thanks, I forgot he played 2 matches :-) Andy4226uk (talk) 12:02, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Major issue with tournament averages

edit

Sorry guys, but the tournament averages on darts database are completely flawed. Take Phil Taylor's first two matches....

(91.11) Phil Taylor
(94.52) Phil Taylor

These two matches averages are being added together and then halved to give 92.82 - which is incorrect, you cannot "average an average" - I will put a "dispute" template on that section

Take for instance the following scenarios

Match Darts thrown Points scored Average
1 51 2505 49.11
2 132 6101 46.21
Total 183 8606 47.03

Under the method being used the average would come out at 47.66 (49.11 + 46.21 / 2)

I understand your concerns. However, the only stats that have been found regarding tournament averages are on the website that is referenced in the article. Unless somebody has information regarding the amount of darts thrown per match, then this data will always be slightly inaccurate. Andy4226uk (talk) 10:33, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Creditable source for averages at http://www.dartsforwin.com/ - can download a demo version and export the averages to Excel then pick out the stats you need. Sorry can't help - working right through to New Year (off for the final though !!) Seedybob2 (talk) 01:21, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if it is just me. but I have been on that website, and I can see all of the statistics, apart from the averages. If anybody else can put them on, I would be grateful. Andy4226uk (talk) 20:47, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
