Initial scan of the article showed no major problems, I intend to start the review promptly. '''tAD''' (talk) 02:07, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- Lead
- The lead calls CR7 the man of the match, while the infobox reveals that he was only the fans' MotM but the official UEFA award went to Van der Sar. Either write that Ronaldo was the fans' MotM here, or omit that completely.

- Background
- One sentence starts "They on". Did you mean "They went on" ?

- This section says CFC's most recent match against an English team was the shootout loss to LFC in 2007, however in the semi-final of 2008 they won against that opponent
- Reworded to say it was their last meeting with an English club prior to 2007–08, since the 2007–08 semi-final win is mentioned in the "Route to the final" section. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- "one of the greatest tragedies" - sometimes Wikipedia's policy on emotive language can seem brusque, so we have to be sensitive here. But the same as "one of the greatest finals" is not within guidelines, so is this phrase, because it is not verifiable - the scale of a tragedy is different to different individuals. So this needs rewording.

- This section could have a brief summary of the 2001 and 2003 finals, in which the two teams were also compatriots.
- Done and referenced. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Route to the final
- Some match reports/sources would be needed in this section.

- "Very creditable" - possible POV/weaseling

- The following sentence needs to point out this was the second leg. The record for their CL home victories also needs a source
- Done and done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Subsequent mentions of Cristiano Ronaldo in this section after the first one should be unlinked and only say "Ronaldo"

- The Mourinho/Grant sentences can be merged into one quite comfortably: "Two days later manager José Mourinho left Chelsea by mutual consent, and was replaced by former Israeli national team coach Avram Grant."
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- All four paragraphs of the CFC section start with "Chelsea". Some variety could start with "In the first knockout round, Chelsea faced Olympiacos" etc
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- I would write "The first leg in Athens ended in a goalless draw, while Chelsea advanced to the quarter-finals with a 3–0 second leg win with goals from Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou"

- Link Fenerbahce in the CFC section

- In the semi, this sentence will run smoother: "The first leg at Anfield was a 1–1 draw, in which Chelsea got an added-time equaliser through a John Arne Riise own goal"
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- In the second leg, have Didier Drogba's name in full on the first mention. The minutes are a bit OTT, say that Drogba scored twice and Lampard once.

- Pre-match
- Link the 2009 final in the venue section
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Match
- Notable events in the match should be referenced
- Extra-time: Include a reference that Drogba was the second to be sent off.

- There's a contradiction in this section compared to the lead. Did extra time "pass mostly without incident" as the lead says, or did it retain "thrilling pace" like this section says? Or are both mere opinions and should be removed?
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- In this section, avoid overlink. One link per player is enough, and put just their surname in subsequent mentions

- Post match
- What does Anelka being called Le Sulk have to do with him not being a penalty specialist?
- I didn't write that passage, but I don't think it was to do with him not being a penalty specialist, it was to do with him being reluctant to take a penalty. Nevertheless, it seems a bit prejudicial, so I'll remove it. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Replace "Chelsea FC" with just Chelsea
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- The sentence says Cech, Drogba, Alex and Shevchenko were linked with moves away afterwards, the source does not mention Cech. And this looks like gossip, which is not advised - did any of these players even talk to the clubs? I certainly can't recall that.
- If this stays, the postscript on Shevchenko needs reworking - he went back on loan to Milan for 2009-10 while the article suggests he stayed because Ancelotti was hired
- No, he went back to Milan for 2008-09 and returned to Chelsea when they hired Ancelotti for the 2009-10 season. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, I got confused and thought he went on loan in 09/10 as well, but instead he left to Dynamo Kiev in 2009. Anyway, the sentence seems to suggest that Ancelotti had some role in bringing him back to Chelsea, which doesn't seem right as he left so quickly afterwards. What about "As a result of the loss, Chelsea quartet Didier Drogba, Andriy Shevchenko, Alex and Petr Čech were linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, before eventually remaining with the club, although Shevchenko spent the 2008–09 season on loan former club Milan"
- No, he went back to Milan for 2008-09 and returned to Chelsea when they hired Ancelotti for the 2009-10 season. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Please remove the word "heartbreak" from that section
- Done. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Overall, an impressive and comprehensive article, and a pass with a few improvements. '''tAD''' (talk) 02:40, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- Responded to most comments. Any I haven't looked at will be seen to in the next couple of days. – PeeJay 16:07, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Points taken care of, will pass. '''tAD''' (talk) 18:55, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
