Delaware replacement policy
editWhat is the Delaware rule/policy for replacing a senator who resigns, dies, or declines to inaugurate? Is it a governor appointment? What party is the current governor (or whoever picks the replacement senator)? Gossg (talk) 18:08, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
My source for Delaware Senator replacement may not be a great source. If this quote is rejected, please generalize it to at least say that the Governor appoints. That was seen on a large number of googled sources. If you have a better authoritative reference, then you're welcome to replace my edit completely.Gossg (talk) 18:25, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
In Ann Miner still in power after the election? I guess the decision would be between the election date and the inauguration date. 68.145.37.27 (talk) 05:33, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
On the far fetched possibilty that Biden could remain in the senate and not become Vice President
editLet's face facts here. Unless Biden gets embroiled in a Rod Blagoiavich like scandal, he is going to resign from the senate and be sworn in as Vice President. Consider these facts.
1. Biden has already named a chief of staff for his new job.
2. Biden's senate replacment has already been named.
3. Biden and his wife were already given a private tour of Blair House by the Cheany's.
4. Biden has already been given the task of chairing a committee within the administration that will deal with ways to help middle class families.
5. Biden stated on Larry King Live that he will be sworn in as Vice President by justice Steavens
True, he hasn't resigned his seat yet but that's only because it's not time for him to resign. So I would like to request that that part of the article be deleted. There is no proof that Biden is rethinking his position to become the next Vice President. Also, that part of the article is only a theory and as far as I know is not cited anywhere. If Biden hadn't already done the things I listed by now maybe he would have second thoughts about being Vice President but that's not the case —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.30.177.152 (talk) 22:02, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- I agree there was never any chance he would decline the veepdom, but Wikipedia is full of literalists and uncommon sensers who go nuts over stuff like this. If you want to remove it, go ahead. Wasted Time R (talk) 22:11, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
