Ordering of First, Second and Third Place

edit

Could someone please explain how the ordering of 1st, 2nd and 3rd was determined since all finished with 9-2 records. Juve2000 (talk) 20:38, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It should be in the article, but I'm not sure where it would go. The answer is that all the teams draw to the button before the round robin, and that determines the positions in the event that some or all the playoff-bound rinks are tied. Did all 12 teams throw one rock and the distance from the centre to the rock was measured for each, creating a list from 1 to 12? Secondly, do they look at games between the tied teams as the first tie-breaker? If one of the 3 tied teams was 2-0 against the other two, would it have been first no matter what the 'draw-to-the-button' list determined? (Thanks in advance) Juve2000 (talk) 23:34, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes; No; Yes. -- Earl Andrew - talk 03:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I don't get the "NO" since questions 2 and 3 are related. Juve2000 (talk) 22:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bronze medal game box?

edit

What's with the bronze medal game box with Switzerland in it? The loser of the semifinal is the bronze medal winner, there is no bronze medal game (unlike, say the Olympic Hockey game). Anchoress · Weigh Anchor · Catacomb 01:07, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is, actually. -- Earl Andrew - talk 03:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Really? Oops, my bad. I didn't think it would be different than the last worlds I watched, which were in 2005. Anchoress · Weigh Anchor · Catacomb 22:40, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Canada in the final?

edit

Right now (22:30 UTC Saturday the 29th) the flow chart shows Canada in the final, but the details below don't show Canada winning the semifinal against Japan. Is this because the game's over but the details are missing, or is it wishful thinking? Anchoress · Weigh Anchor · Catacomb 22:40, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
