How about using collapsible boxes?

edit

The match list uses {{footballbox}} for match details. How would it be to use {{footballbox collapsible}} instead? This displays just the date, teams, score and venue with a "show" link to expand the match details (time, scorers and so on). I've an illustration with just a few matches (including fictional scores, etc) here, what do people think? Tonywalton Talk 10:13, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've gone ahead and been bold and done it. Please feel free to revert to non-collapsible boxes if this is offensive to you, but if you do don't forget to reinstate the ---- separators between the boxes (which the footballbox template doesn't supply but the collapisible version does). You'll have to delete the football fixtures for league one. According to Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_20#Fixtures, the fixtures are copyrighted. If you want, delete the fixtures but save the template so you can add the results when the matches are played (results aren't copyrighted).Mofs (talk) 13:08, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
These are not copyrightable, the discussion you link to is out of date. See the Guardian link posted below. --Thomas Btalk 04:49, 17 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Having the list of Championship fixtures on this page is against copyright laws so I think they need to be removed as soon as possible. BigDom 12:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

You can't copyright a list of events in the US, can you really engage in such abject nonsense in the UK? --Thomas Btalk 16:52, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
This suggests no: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2004/nov/10/football.business --Thomas Btalk 16:54, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, the fixture lists are still subject to copyright and I have removed them. --Jameboy (talk) 01:15, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Further evidence that these are not copyrightable can be found here (PDF), in a comprehensive analysis of the rulings on the copyrightability of databases, specifically those on football fixtures, produced by the DG in Brussels. I'm not sure why you find your mere assertion more persuasive than third party evidence. Can you explain why I should believe you over the ECJ, perhaps with recourse to independent support? --Thomas Btalk 18:59, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

About your Third Opinion request: I've removed the {{3O}} banner template, since no request for a third opinion has been made at the WP:3O page. If a 3O is still desired, please follow the instructions there. TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 22:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
