Club+City+Stadium list updated for all provinces

Recently I did an effort to copy all match+venue data from www.safa.net into an excel ark, and subsequently updated all stadium info in the article. Along the way, I also updated all City info and checked+corrected those club+stadium names being mis-spelled by SAFA. Finally the club names were also checked and searched for in the wiki-database, and for around 5 of the previous "red-link", it was possible to find a "blue-link" and redirect to that. It took me quiet some time, and this is why I found it appropriate to bump a note, that this "update work" now has been done for all provinces. Danish Expert (talk) 11:12, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Improved log layout (and how we should list renamed clubs)

Logs for all provinces now include a green colour for the winner, and a red colour for the relegated teams. Moreover, the bottom of the tables now also include two lines to list "joining clubs" and "leaving clubs" for the next season. Another change, currently visible at the 2009–10 Vodacom League article, was to start noting a parenthesis behind all those clubs deciding to rename themself after the season (of which the majority represent a sell of their franchise to another club). After looking into the matter, and comparing with the data from RSSSF, I found out that SAFA at least for the 2009-10 season decided to rename the previous club names, with those names applying for 2010-11. The practise of SAFA is of course wrong and inappropriate, as we in all Wikipedia articles have an established guideline, that all entities with multiple names, should always be named with the name that applied at the given time -of which we refer to. Never-the-less, with the different approach by SAFA, it was possible to rather quickly compile the set of all name changes, going from 2009-10 to 2010-11. For the near future, when updating the tables in the 2010-11 article, with a parenthesis to show "new names" for renamed clubs; this described "update procedure" might be viable to use again. Otherwise a "Google search" made for unexpected "disappearing club names" going from 2010-11 into 2011-12, is of course also viable, although a bit more time consuming. Provincial winners decided by appeal cases

This is a new important chapter to include in future seasonal Vodacom League articles. Basicly a bunch of appeals are filed after each season, and unfortunately we have no official source providing an overview of the cases. Despite of that, it was possible to figure out and list all the appeals, by making a copy of the official SAFA match database per April 30 and compare with the final match databse from June. Whenever possible, a reference was of course added to supplement this info from various news outlets in South Africa. Unfortunately no news outlet managed to report about all the decisive cases in a single reference; so this call for us Wikipedians in the future, to continue making this log comparison between how it stands after "the last match day", and how it stands after "the end of the appeal process -6 weeks later". To-do list

Beside of improving the article with the points mentioned here at the discussion page, I also in the past few weeks completed the following work:

• Created 16 new stadium articles: Ackerville Stadium, Pilditch Stadium, NNK Rugby Stadium, Mehlareng Stadium, Wynberg Military Base Stadium, Erica Park, SJ Smith Stadium, Modderfontein Stadium, UWC Stadium, Westdene Stadium, Galeshewe Stadium, Kabokweni Stadium, Lebowakgomo Stadium, Ngwana Mohube Sports Ground, Robinvale Sport Field, and KaNyamazane Stadium.
• Wrote a brand new club article for all of the 9 participating clubs having qualified for the playoff stage: Durban Stars, Chippa United, Sivutsa Stars, Baroka, Buffalo, Real Madrid, Garankuwa United, Roses United and the new phoenix version of Highlands Park.
• Wrote a brand new club article for African Winners, which however still need attention in form of a confirmation, if they indeed adopted the new name Cloud 9, or just in the end failed to buy the club (despite SAFA listing the buy out as approved by August 2010).
• Identified five U19 teams all playing in the 2010-11 Vodacom League, but being owned by a current PSL team. For a start, I just created a redirect link for those five U19 teams, and wrote a few lines about them in the article of the "mother PSL team". Here are the list of the official names and new redirects: Ajax Cape Town U19, Bay Academy, Bid Boys, Celtic Colts and SuperSport T.H. Academy.

Having used quiet a lot time to update the article, I will now leave the article + affiliated work; and hope for other fellow Wikipedians to help continue improving the article, by conducting some of the remaining work, mentioned in the to-do list below.

To-do list:

• Update the note about joining teams, with exact name of promoted teams from SAB Regional league.
• Update the logs with info -shown by parenthesis- about "new names", for those clubs being "renamed" ahead of the 2011-12 season.
• Update log tables and appeal chapter, with the final outcome of the remaining 5 cases.
• Create new stadium articles -with GPS coordinates- for all the remaining 64 red-linked stadiums
  (of which 20 currently carry a hidden note with GPS information, being visible when you hit the edit page)
• Create new club articles for the remaining 118 red-linked clubs.
