League fixtures
editPlease do not add future league fixtures to the articles as they are not allowed. The fixtures are not freely available they can only be published by those that hold a licence and quote the license when they are published. We do not hold such a licence and so can only publish the fixture after the event has taken place. Keith D (talk) 15:09, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
- We don't need a license. It is public knowledge. The FA have announced the fixture therefore dropping all rights they have to holding the permissions for said fixtures. In doing so, the permissions have been handed to the FANS thus there is no need for a permission or any form of license. Portenpinner (talk) 23:17, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- We do need a license to publish them - though they have been published they can only be reproduced under licence - if you look at the BBC pages showing the forward fixtures you will see that they show the licence detail at the bottom of the listing. We have this problem each year as we do not hold such a licence and cannot legally publish them and that is why we do not fill in the fixtures on pages until after the matches hae taken place. Keith D (talk) 09:31, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's the BBC, not the FA. Since the FA have released the fixtures, it is free for the public to use, and in this case, post on this page. Every other 2011/12 team has the EPL fixtures for this season posted, how is it any different with Villa? Portenpinner (talk) 22:51, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- Not true. Those organisations who have the right to publish the fixtures (BBC, Sky, pools, etc) have that right because they pay a huge annual license fee (several thousand pounds) which WP does not. Just because they have been released does not give anyone the right to publish them willy-nilly. It's like a song - just because it's been put out on an album, that doesn't instantly render it out of copyright. See here for a copy of the actual license agreement required to reprint the fixtures].... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 17:38, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Results for matches
editCould people refrain from putting in results during matches as a lot of what is put in isn't what happened. If you are to edit the results in, please wait until the match is FULLY over, not just when a goal is scored. Protenpinner (talk) 08:28, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
The formation is worng
editIt's not a 4-3-3, it's a 4-2-3-1 with N'Zogbia and Agbonlahor on the wings and Heskey in the hole. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.40.138.9 (talk) 00:16, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- That has since been changed after the Barclay's Asian Trophy. Protenpinner (talk) 16:34, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
