Wikipedia is not a scoreboard

edit

There have been many discussions about this on the Football WikiProject and all have the same conclusion: don't update the scores while the match is in-play even though there's a match in play template. It breaks several policies and guidelines. However, most of the Football project won't undo this sort of edit, even though they agree it's not constructive, since it's usually done by anonymous editors who swarm pages with updates. [Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_55#Live_scores_issue_again This is one of those discussions] although there have been more, recent versions as well. There are no compelling arguments to updating the scores live. Please save the match reports for the end of the match. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:47, 3 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
