An awfully big article for something that hasn't happened yet (or you could argue that it has been going on since the Iranian revolution). Wikipedia is not a current affairs website so I move for deletion or reversion to Userspace until things resolve themselves. On a personal note, I have actually been at the sharp end of things at the Musandam Peninsula. Namely the airfield at Khasab with two SEPECAT Jaguar aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman.Petebutt (talk) 04:26, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Is this truly an ongoing dispute or an isolated incident?

I am wondering about the underlying premise that this specific dispute is an ongoing event or that it ended on February 14, 2012 when that American-British-French naval flotilla transited the Strait of Hormuz. The subsequent events outlined after February 14, 2012 seem less germane to the proximate cause of the crisis regarding the carrier Stennis's transit of the Strait of Hormuz and the initial Iranian demands about its return to the Persian Gulf. If so, why not move the naval activities after the February 14th date to the Consequences section, and split this section into two sub-sections, one for oil prices and the other on naval activities? Ongoing?
