Per WP:CRYSTAL, I've redirectedRafael Nadal in 2011 to Rafael Nadal. It is entirely possible that Rafael Nadal will not play tennis in 2011, or that no tennis will be played at all, or that the world will explode and no one will do anything. We don't create articles about an athlete's participation in some future competition when there is absolutely no guarantee such a competition will even happen.
The content is still there in the history, and if the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rafael Nadal in 2010 leads to the 2010 article being kept, then there can be one for 2011 too and it will be easy enough to restore the article from the history page. But that article should only add info as it happens, not as it is projected to happen. We don't even have an article about the 2011 Sony Ericsson Open yet, so we certainly don't need an article saying that Nadal says he will play in it. Please don't restore this article until Nadal actually begins playing in 2011, and only then if the 2010 article survives AfD. --Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs21:40, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
