Host
editRumors have said that Indonesia/Philippines and Malaysia/Thailand is most likely interested to be the host of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. I know there's no reference yet but many social groups such twitter and facebook, people most want to see Indonesia/Philippines or Malaysia/Thailand to be the host of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. Andy4190 (talk)
- Current page display the hosts of the tournament is Singapore and Laos, i think this is false, so i am going to delete it. 27christian11 (talk)
Brunei Football Team
editWill Brunei national football team played in 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup Qualification?? Andy4190 (talk)
- If they aren't suspended and enter then yes. Druryfire (talk) 13:28, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
Qualification Round
editSo since Philippines has reach the semi-finals and have better ranking then Myanmar, I think the AFF will put Myanmar at the qualification ( Include Brunei since they have been uplift the banned and suspended from FIFA) and Philippines. I also sure Myanmar will be the host at the qualification and the venue ( I guess) will be at Bogyoke Aung San Stadium FIFA's August Ranking for Philippines (162) and Myanmar (168).SolTimor (talk) 20:00, 26 August 2011 (UTC +9.)
The Table of Qualification look like this (Following FIFA's August Ranking)
Team | Pld | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | Pts |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Myanmar | 4 | ' | ||||||
Cambodia | 4 | ' | ||||||
Laos | 4 | ' | ||||||
Brunei | 4 | ' | ||||||
East Timor | 4 | ' |
- That's a lot of assuming. Pity nothing has ever been announced about this at thi very early stage. Druryfire (talk) 13:59, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Here's a linked that tell Philippines will not be participated the qualification at 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup qualification, instead they are moved to Group stage. [[1]] SolTimor (talk) 00:38, 27 August 2011 (UTC +9.)
- Yeah, but that doesn't come from an official line and it also doesn't say anything about Brunei, did they just forget about them? Although the are probably correct about the Phills being in the Group Stages, there is nothing concrete about the qualifiers. Druryfire (talk) 18:56, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Possible Venues
editPossible Venues of 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup: the main are National Stadium, Bukit Jalil and Rajamangala Stadium. The Secondary venues are Shah Alam Stadium and Yamaha Stadium, Thailand or I-mobile Stadium.
Group Stage
editThe Group A & Group B of AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 must followed the model of the Group stages at UEFA Euro 2012. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wester. Inc (talk • contribs) 22:26, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Since the AFF Suzuki Cup already popular why not make a section of AFF Suzuki Cup Group A & Group B ( Just like the UEFA Euro 2012)with the 11 player's name in line up & substitutes, both team uniform and formation. I will design all the 8 football team kit ( Home & Away). Wester. Inc (talk)
- Not needed. It's just a regional tournament! And so what if it's popular? The CECAFA Cup is popular as well, yet it doesn't have such pages nor does it warrant one for each edition. In fact, the Group A & B, along with the knockout round articles for the 2010 Suzuki Cup should be deleted! Banana Fingers (talk) 21:31, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ok then no need to create a separate pages for group a& b. what about the semi-finals and finals, it need a page for that. I want to make new trends in AFF Suzuki Cup, people always look at this page and they always compliance who's the starting line, what both teams wear, what are the formation of both team during the matches; this the 9th pages we need to make it interesting. The 2011 Asian Cup already started creating special pages in group stages, quarter-finals, semi-final and the finals. why not we create special pages for the semi-finals & finals ? Wester. Inc (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:58, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
- AFF Championship cannot be compared to Asian Cup for a start. Squad lineups are hard to come by. If you want to do it, then be my guess. But my experience is that you will be doing this on your own, get bored, and then we will have articles half finished/created. Just the finals lineup would do in my opinion on the main page. Druryfire (talk) 08:38, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
- If people can guarantee that they can come up with lineups and graphics spinoff articles are needed, otherwise no. The 2010 article has less than 30k bytes, not that long.
- In any case, I'd rather have prose than more stats. –HTD 08:36, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Laos and Myanmar disqualified
