Results tables in Team pages

I made a modified Result table based on the one that has gone up on each of the team pages, I changed a few things so that it would be easier to change things for future seasons. I propose we use these changes for the tables, but I would like to hear feed-back on it.

As you can see, some of the changes I have made include: Replacing the team name section for the season (as these will be on the teams page, so having the team name is unnecessary), adding a tyre section, removing the car numbers (although this could be added back), merging the row for chassis, moving the races down and adding round numbers (this will easily allow more seasons to be added. And I've just hidden them (not deleted). Season does not start until September, a large blank table does not need to be there for the next nine months. I've also merged team articles into their parent teams where appropriate. It is not the Wikipedia practice to run seperate articles for each series a motor racing organisation competes in. I've also removed the (Formula E team) disambiguator. Per WP:DISAMBIG you are not supposed to place a bracketted explanation like that in an article name unless there is a clash with another article. Hiding the table makes perfect sense. However, I was wondering about some of the teams that you merged. I agree with most of them (DAMS, Andretti, Dragon, etc.), but I do question whether the defunct F1 teams of Super Aguri and Virgin are the same projects as their respective F1 counterparts. I had been under the impression that Marussia had taken over the Virgin Team. I'm still looking for a source that says whether or not Super Aguri is the same entity to the F1 team. It certainly shares the name (and Mr. Suzuki) along with some senior members of the team, but on the team info page on the Formula E site is said that it was a brand new team. Of course it's a new team. When Andretti Autosport started its American Le Mans Series team that was a new team. Doesn't mean it gets a seperate article. Virgin team has not been merged (yet). Marussia F1 has its own article, so I don't see any problem with merging into Virgin. --Falcadore (talk) 02:20, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
If that's the case, then why are Caterham F1 and Caterham Racing (GP2 team) separate pages? The Caterham Racing article states that it "...shares deep technical links with its Formula One parent team. The GP2 operation is embedded within the Formula One operation and base, and the two teams share the same technical staff." I hope this doesn't seem like I'm trying to be difficult, I just want to understand when an entity is different enough to warrant a separate page. Monte Carlo

Trulli GP

I posted this on the talk page for the Trulli GP page, but maybe this is a better place for it. Thus far there has been no confirmation that the team will be using an Italian racing license. On the teams page [1] Trulli GP is the only team that doesn't have a flag listed. On the page for the team [2] it says the location is Switzerland. Let's just wait until we see some sort of confirmation about the team location. The series doesn't start for another two months. JohnMcButts (talk) 16:46, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Teams Order?

Can someone explain the logic behind the order of the teams in the Teams and drivers section? C1010 (talk) 21:52, 13 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Numerological order is the default standard in wikipedia, and in general use within motorsport. Ever pick up an official program at a race meeting the entry lists are always in numerological order.
Why? Becuase race numbers are there to specificaly identify one racing driver from another. It has been the standard method of identifying race cars on a track for over 100 years. Using any other method makes less sense. --Falcadore (talk) 05:22, 14 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Numerological order certainly makes sense in a series like GP2 where the teams are given numbers based on their performance the previous year. The drivers are all listed in consecutive numerological order, and not this silly lowest number in the team. Not every series uses the lowest number system, so if we think that there's a better way, why not use it? Additionally, the Formula E site http://www.fiaformulae.com/en/teams.aspx uses an alphabetical list of teams, and doesn't even list the car numbers. Finally, Wikipedia is not a race program. It's an encyclopedia, and for an entry list like this alphabetical order makes the most sense. JohnMcButts (talk) 15:47, 14 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
And yet by having a tabular listing of competitors we are performing the exact same function as what a program does; listing and identifying the competitors. So in that particular aspect wikipedia IS a program.
And for you information, the allocation of race numbers being dependant on previous years results has never been a factor in the tabulation of race numbers. Almost every other motor racing article in wikipedia performs in this manner. Alphabetical by teams is very much the exception to the rule.
The fact remains that reace number have always existed for identification purposes and for that reason only. Race numbers have been a part of motor racing since the very beginning of the sport and used constantly since then for exactly that purpose, and you a proposing something other tabulation than the system built into the sport from it's earliest days? No that is the idea that does not make sense.
You asked for reasons and thoughts, well there they are. You can ignore them if you choose, but by doing so, you are ignoring one of the more important parts of the sport. --Falcadore (talk) 07:10, 15 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Lap chart 2015

Amlin Aguri & Trulli teams racing license

According to the official entry list of the last ePrix [3], Amlin Aguri is a British team and Trulli GP is an Italian team. Also, after da Costa's win in Buenos Aires, the Portugese and British national anthems as been played for the winning driver and team (Amlin Aguri). Incorrect season referencing for Formula E

I'm really confused as to why the Formula E articles use the incorrect season referencing? In Formula E, seasons are not described by year but as 'Season 1,' 'Season 2,' etc - so if Nelson Piquet Jr is referred to he is described as 'Season 1 Champion,' Sebastien Buemi 'Season 2 champion' etc.

I appreciate that other motorsport series don't adhere to this but it seems extremely nonsensical not to refer to the seasons by the way that people would hear them.
