How does listing everything twice make things "clearer". It actually makes it more confusing because people need to work out whether the two lists are identical or not. The AFC/OFC/CONCACAF and CAF have sections that note that not all teams start in the same round. Confederations that all start together don't need a section to say "everyone starts together" and then another to say "everyone starts together". This is now 2010 was handled, why should 2014 be any different. Even worse, the formatting (50+ teams in the case of UEFA in two columns- why???) fills up an entire page with pointless guff before you actually get to what people might actually care about. Reference 2 has nothing to do with what it is supposed to be a reference for... Paraguay Eliminated

There are still mathematical possibilities for Paraguay to qualify, even directly as a fourth place team. Need to remove pink bar.

It's mathematically impossible to qualify with less than 23 points. Paraguay can only get to 20. You are forgetting some teams will still play 4 more games and others will play 5. MarcosPassos (talk) 16:54, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Clinching Scenarios Venezuela Ecuador Uruguay Colombia

Venezuela cannot qualify directly because they have 16 points with 2 matches remaining, which maxes them out at 22 points. Ecuador and Uruguay are tied at 22, with a matchup against each other, which will result in either team ending up with 23/25 points. Great50 (talk) 00:03, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Venezuela cannot qualify period. Even if they have won the final game, at best they will tie Ecuador and Uruguay at 22 points. IIRC tied teams are first determined by head to head results, in which case Venezuela will lose out on both Ecuador and Uruguay. Venezuela at best will be stuck at sixth place. Colombia qualified. The best that Ecuador and Uruguay can do is to tie each other, then win both of their remaining match. With tie breakers being points between the teams only, Right now it is Colombia 6 (all done), Ecuador and Uruguay 4 (one game left, against each other). So no matter what happened, if all three teams tied, Colombia will finish either 1st or 2nd of this three team group, which will make it third or fourth in the standing. Colombia is not qualified. The first tie-breaking rule is goal difference, not head-to-head. So they can still finish 5th. If all the following happens, Colombia, Ecuador and Uruguay will be tied on points and the team with the worst GD will play the play-off:

Colombia lose to Chile and Paraguay.

Ecuador draw with Uruguay.

Ecuador defeat Chile.

Uruguay defeat Argentina.

Luis Suarez's 11 goals

Luis Suarez scored 11 goals in the qualifiers, not 10 like the article shows. Source: [1]. This can also be found by counting his goals in the individual matches in the article.
