Discrepancies
edit(for @GAThrawnIGF:, @Dnfw: and @Ytfc23: in particular) There seems to be some discrepancies between this page and the figures being given by the ATP. Of note, I think you're missing where players are, for various reasons, able to replace the points from a Masters tournament with the points from another tournament. To quote the ranking regulations:
For every Grand Slam or mandatory ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament for which a player is not in the main draw, and was not (and, in the case of a Grand Slam, would not have been, had he and all other players entered) a main draw direct acceptance on the original acceptance list, and never became a main draw direct acceptance, the number of his results from all other eligible tournaments in the ranking period, that count for his ranking, is increased by one (1).
We can see that the ATP race ranking as of the start of today (5th October, that is, before the current tournaments in Beijing & Tokyo) of Thiem and Simon, for example, are both 45 points higher than given here (Thiem - 1510 v 1465; Simon, 1920 v 1875) as the players' absence at the Madrid Masters is substituted in for Thiem's 45 pts at the 2015 BMW Open and Simon's 45 pts at the 2015 Nottingham Open. This might be best illustrated with the points total in the appropraite column of the player, but italicized eg:

Update
editOnly Jo-Wilfried Tsonga apart from the 8 top players on the race can qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals, so the rest of them had been deleted.
Why remove the doubles too? It's a far more interesting race. Also, I'm trying to wrap my head around the way Tsonga can qualify. According to my math, the ONLY way he can make it is an alternate because even if he wins Paris, he'd still be 400 points behind both Nishikori and Ferrer - there's no way at all he can catch either player, plus Ferrer has the chance to add even more points this week if he wins the title. So how has the ATP site not made it a done deal? Are they expecting Nishikori to withdraw or something? GAThrawnIGF (talk) 17:57, 25 October 2015 (UTC)
You're right. My mistake. I revert the changes and put again the Doubles Contenders' table. Also, Tsonga can't qualify because he doesn't play this week, but Richard Gasquet has only ten points less and choose to play this week, so he has mathemical options (very remote) of qualify.
Singles alternates
editThis sentence was recently added: "Marin Cilic and Gilles Simon are the alternates. Richard Gasquet, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga , John Isner, Kevin Anderson and Milos Raonic all declined the alternate spot."
I have been searching for information about the alternates, and have not been able to find anything that corroborates this; in fact, I had found one source(http://www.vavel.com/en-us/tennis-usa/562684-the-race-to-london-battle-for-alternate-spots-heats-up-in-paris-bercy.html) that noted that Gasquet had said he would accept the first alternate spot. Could the person who added this info please cite a source, if any?

- Remove if it's unsourced. --Super Nintendo Chalmers (talk) 16:27, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
Qualified Players summary
editThe qualified players summary has been only part completed for a while. I've removed it but the text is at /Qualified players summary if anyone wants to complete it and reinsert it. --Super Nintendo Chalmers (talk) 09:31, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Accessibility issue
editColor cannot be the only way to direct someone to information. When it says "Players in pink withdrew during the tournament and were replaced by an alternate" colorblind readers have great difficulty. There needs to be an additional symbol added per WP:ACCESSIBILITY. Thanks Fyunck(click) (talk) 19:37, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
