Cáceres loan
editHi, pinging regulars: @Jono52795, J man708, Macosal, and Matilda Maniac: I'd appreciate some extra eyes and input into how I put in Cáceres loan extension and subsequent return to Manchester to be loaned to Al-Wasl. --SuperJew (talk) 08:17, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hey SJ, I'd personally just ignore the loan extension and write that he was recalled from loan and then loaned out again to Al-Wasl. I'm sure that's the shonky way of doing it, but a lot easier. The issue of his extension and subsequent recall should probably be shown on his personal article, not necessarily this one. - J man708 (talk) 08:23, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
- I think if extensions are going to be included in this type of article, a little more info could be useful and clear up this sort of situation. E.g. adding columns for 'extension date' and 'new expiry date' could make it a little clearer what happened here. Macosal (talk) 09:13, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hmm @J man708: I feel ignoring the extension would be omitting information, as he did sign a contract extension, but it ended before the original date (I would guess Melbourne had to agree to it, but they prob did because they want Manchester to like them, but they're not posting much about it). I'm not entirely sure how relevant it is that he was loaned out afterwards to Al-Wasl - I did include it in the note, but I don't think it warrants enough to be in the main transfer table, as he returned to Man City first.
- @Macosal: A "date" column is a good idea imo - I'll get around to adding it to season pages later (unless someone has time before me ;) ). Regarding "new expiry date" we discussed something similar here in regards to the general transfers, and I assumed it is relevant to here too. --SuperJew (talk) 10:00, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

- Hi SJ. Personally I'm comfortable with the note you've included under Caceres' contract extension title. Explains the situation more than sufficiently to the casual reader. Thanks. Jono52795 (talk) 01:09, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
