26th season
editA user keeps adding the phrase that this is the "26th season (25th season of play) of the Ottawa Senators". This phrase is both awkward and does not align with any of the other NHL teams articles. None. This phrase was removed but a user who is showing some ownership traits keeps re-adding it. It has been removed. Saboteurest (talk) 16:35, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Saboteurest: Thanks for taking this to talk. It is the 25th season of play. One season was not played. Why is that a problem? There is no prohibition. Leave it in. Alaney2k (talk) 18:28, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Saboteurest: You should stop accusing me of ownership right here. First of all, this format has been used in Ottawa Senators season pages for many years and I was just restoring to its accepted version. Furthermore, teams' season pages' lede is not supposed to be identical. So discuss it here or you will be reported for wrongful accusations. – Sabbatino (talk) 19:21, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- Looking over your edit history and numerous edit wars and warnings, saying you demonstrate traits of article ownership is not a stretch by any means. It was not meant as an insult. Every NHL team in existence before the lockout will have played one less season. Having it awkwardly mentioned in the lead of only one teams article is bad form. Someone not familiar with the NHL may think the Senators alone missed a season. It should be on all articles or none to avoid confusion. Saboteurest (talk) 20:42, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- I did not receive any warnings in a long time so stop making stuff up. Restoring to accepted format is not ownership. If IP user keeps changing it and is not willing to discuss the matter then it is his problem. – Sabbatino (talk) 21:30, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- Maybe after reading WP:OWN you should read WP:Civility. No need for the combative attitude on every article. Saboteurest (talk) 05:26, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- You ought to read it yourself seeing that you have been blocked recently. In addition, reading WP:HARASS or more specifically, its section WP:HOUND, could shed some light of what you are currently doing here. Wikipedia is not the place for this, and the issue about which this discussion was created is solved so just leave it alone. – Sabbatino (talk) 08:14, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- LOL. I am guilty of none of those. Now please stop your childish behaviour or you will be reported and possibly blocked from editing, again. Subject matter only please, thank you. Saboteurest (talk) 16:37, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

I removed those "(xth season of play)" from the intros of all the post-2005 Senators season articles, on the basis that we don't have them in any of the other NHL team season articles. PS: It's frustrating though, that the NHL teams have been inconsistent with how the handle the 2004-05 lockout. GoodDay (talk) 19:39, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- And now you bring it to talk. I don't see any reason, e.g. MOS, for why it can't be there. Alaney2k (talk) 20:30, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- I've put a word in at WP:HOCKEY, in seeing what should be done with all the post-2004/05 NHL team season article intros. GoodDay (talk) 20:38, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you GoodDay. I think this is the best solution until a league wide consensus is reached. Saboteurest (talk) 20:43, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
