Infobox
editWould the article benefit from the addition of {{Infobox event}})? Mjroots (talk) 21:33, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
- Mjroots Yes, more than likely. It would be a place for vital information such as start of eruption time, location, date, etc. I can't think of any reason why not too. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 03:28, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- {{Infobox eruption}} is used for these kinds of articles. Volcanoguy 19:58, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Link to main article
editShould we add a link to the main article for Mount Agung? Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 03:29, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Six hours since I left this. So I'll assume it's either a stupid question, or nobody has any objections. Only way I'll find out is if it's removed. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 09:13, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
I think the link is already provided in the infobox, unless you added that yourself. - 1.02 editor (talk) 13:54, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- 1.02 editor I did, but somebody else disagreed with it. It also now seems kind of asinine to do so, since as you said there is a link in the article. Boomer VialHolla! We gonna ball! 23:02, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
12 Kilometers versus 6 Miles?
editThis discrepancy in exclusion and evacuation zone units seems odd, is it correct, or due to rounding off? Official units should be used. μηδείς (talk) 03:44, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Umm... What is the discrepancy? Most of the world uses kilometers. Indonesia uses kilometers. The data come from the statements of the official Indonesian agencies. Pmccawley (talk) 20:27, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- You are a day late and a dollar short. I already searched the sources and corrected the problem yesterday; you can search the history to see the problem at the time I made the comment above. But your high dudgeon is to be commended. μηδείς (talk) 22:14, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Article title
editWhy is "2017" in the title? Pre-emptive disambiguation? There is no other article about a previous eruption of Mount Agung. 2600:8800:1880:C359:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 05:02, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- I think it's just a general convention for articles about specific eruptions. See e.g. 2010 eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull, 2010 eruptions of Mount Merapi, 1883 eruption of Krakatoa, 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora, and so on. There are no other eruption-specific articles on Wikipedia for any of the aforementioned volcanoes. Hope this helps. Adrianrorheim (talk) 08:33, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- As an aside, the 1963 eruption of Mt Agung would certainly merit its own article. Maias (talk) 12:50, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed. I might get around to it in the next week or two unless someone beats me to it. Adrianrorheim (talk) 13:32, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

2017 eruption of Mount Agung → 2017 eruptions of Mount Agung 2017–2018 eruptions of Mount Agung – I'm not sure how WikiProject Volcanoes names their articles, but there have been multiple eruptions already. ~ KN2731 {t ⋅ c} 11:26, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
- I would support 2017–2018 eruptions of Mount Agung since the eruptions have continued into 2018. Volcanoguy 01:43, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Volcanoguy: well that's true. I've edited the RM to reflect that. ~ KN2731 {t ⋅ c} 08:51, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support - seems a reasonable request. Mjroots (talk) 09:52, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
