2nd round
editIs there some info that the election system changed, and that the legislative portion of the election is now only a single round? They have been two rounds in the past, and if that is still the case then there will certainly be some runoffs in February and the name of the article should be changed back to 2020–21. - Looking over the new CAR constitution promulgated the month after the last election, it does require a second round only for the presidential election. This does not mean that there won't be a second round for the legislative as well, and the domestic press doesn't differentiate executive vs legislative in this regard as many foreign reports on the election do. - According to the electoral law of August 2019 [1] (Titre 2, Chapitre 1, article 131) the two round system is used for both presidential and legislative election.--Aréat (talk) 11:02, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, by the way, I had made the mistake on the french page. If you were looking at it for sources, I corrected it.--Aréat (talk) 11:11, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Name of this article
editJust putting a feeler out, as to whether there are likely to be any objections if I rename this article (and all other election articles for this country) to 2020–21 Central African Republic general election? I find the use of the demonym "Central African" quite confusing here... in ordinary speech, that would usually refer to the region of Central Africa as a whole, not just the CAR. I also think this would be consistent with other articles such as Central African Republic Civil War (2012–present), as well as outside sources such as BBC News. If it's controversial, I'll start an RM, but if people agree that it's straightforward then I would go ahead and make the moves directly. Pinging @Sladnick, Number 57, Ppt2003, Joofjoof, and Calmecac5: who've worked on the article recently. — Amakuru (talk) 22:55, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support The current name seems to be a direct translation of "centrafricaine". Adding "Republic" sounds better in English. Joofjoof (talk) 23:09, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- I wouldn't support a move. The current title is correct per WP:NC-GAL IMO. Number 57 23:27, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- I concur, "Central African" Sounds appropriate. Also there is no second round. Should this just be 2020 election? Sputink (talk) 01:47, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- I guess there may be some second round votes in the legislative elections? Number 57 09:19, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- There's indeed second rounds in 61 out of the 82 constituencies in which the elections were held source in french--Aréat (talk) 23:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

- Thanks! I have updated the article. Any sight of the parliamentary results? Number 57 16:06, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- No problem. As for the parliamentary election, not as far as I know. The various french speaking sources who focused on the country's election only reported the number of seats per parties. The Constitutional court itself doesn't have a website.--Aréat (talk) 17:12, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
