ARIA Music Awards of 20202020 ARIA Music Awards – Per guidelines outlined here. All preceding awards articles should probably be moved also. Sean Stephens (talk) 04:05, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @Sean Stephens and Ammarpad: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:36, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "All preceding awards articles should probably be moved also" How many are they? I am afraid they could turn out to be controversial and I'd have move them back if someone objects. What about putting one or two in a move discussion and seeing what people think? – Ammarpad (talk) 05:34, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per linked guideline. Current title is wrongly worded for an awards ceremony. – DarkGlow (talk) 14:26, 24 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment I haven't yet decided how I feel about this move. I need some information. Firstly, the guideline cited states that the requested version is used widely and is acceptable on wp. However it also says, "this gives a maybe undue focus to the year, rather than to the event" Is there any guideline which suggests the current form is better than the proposed form? If the move is passed, do we have a bot capable of preventing all the redirects from articles that have already used the current format (especially for the preceding years)? If the intention is to move all 34 pages in the series, should this be made explicit via a Requesting multiple page moves format?shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 04:14, 25 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • Oppose I've received no clarification or response to my queries above. I'm not convinced that such a move is warranted, the guideline cited above does not address the issue of events ending in "... of {year}". Another possible system is seen at the Grammy Awards, e.g. 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. More locally we have the example of Triple J Hottest 100, 2019 which the guideline gives as an exception to using commas in article titles. Examples at other Australian award series include Logie Awards of 2019 and APRA Music Awards of 2020. The current ARIA Music Awards of 2020 fits these and is not described at the guideline quoted. It is not disallowed, so leave it as it is.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 03:39, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. And apply to all prior years too. This is the standard format for almost any kind of year-denominated event, and I don't see a strong reason to deviate here. See also here for the RfC which decided on such a format for elections and referenda.  — Amakuru (talk) 13:25, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
