Independents and Reserved seats

How should we display the independent candidates who joined political parties after winning seats and reserved seats on the headline infoboxes and result pages? We need a convention to use across different Pakistani election articles, as different articles are using different methods. The article on the 2018 general election currently includes only general and reserved seats and excludes independent candidates who joined political parties after the election, while the current articles on the 2020 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly election and the 2013 general election includes all independent candidates who joined political parties after the election, reserved seats, and general seats.

I'm in favor of including only general seats inside the headline infobox values (those are the only seats that were directly elected) and in the results sections, and providing a more detailed look at the composition of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and the formation of the 3rd assembly of Gilgit-Baltistan on the articles Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and List of members of the 3rd Assembly of Gilgit-Baltistan, and its own section in this article where we can have info on the government formation similar to this section in the 2018 general election article titled "Government formation". This is because in fact many of the independents who are currently joining PTI in fact beat the official PTI candidate (so that more accurately reflects the will of the people and result of the election), and also I think that this article should focus more on the election than government formation (which we can put into a section of this article and into other articles as I said earlier).

The constituency-wise party list data and data to use on election maps can be based on the official party registration of candidates, so for example Nawaz Khan Naji who affiliates himself with the BNF(N) could be displayed as an Independent candidate, and Javed Ali Manwa who affiliates himself with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would also be displayed as an Independent candidate on these lists. Then on the government formation section we can make note of which political parties they joined in the end.

What do you all think of this idea?

Abbreviation of Muhammad to M. on Constituency lists

@SheriffIsInTown: (tagging you because you are the only person who has shown opposition so far to this idea)

In cases where candidates have more than three names and one of those names is Muhammad, I believe that we should abbreviate that to M. This is an extremely, extremely common convention in Pakistan and is done by many reputable news outlets (in fact many are just dropping the Muhammad or M. entirely).

As they each is known to me and they have different names in Official documents and in public like Raja Zakaria Khan Maqoon is known as Raja Zakaria Maqoon .. and same Kumail1293 (talk) 12:22, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
