Regarding the title
edit@Ecrusized: I am against the article name change because of two reasons; first, most of the media refers to it as "clashes", "border incident" or similar. Second, by the nature of the event itself, it is not serious enough to qualify as such.
For this reason, I request the return of the previous title of the change.

- @Jim Michael: What's your opinion on the naming? Ecrusized (talk) 10:10, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
- I still feel the same way. The name given to these incidents by the media is still the same. Whoever changed, did without argument. cc @Cerberon-900, Ser Amantio di Nicolao, Solavirum, Devonian Wombat, and TobiasRLittleton: --KajenCAT (talk) 10:59, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- Well, in any case. WP:COMMONNAME must be applied, and if most WP:RS calls it "clashes", we'd title it as such. --► Sincerely: Solavirum 14:31, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- I fully support Solavirum's argument. If the press decides to rename the conflict if it escalates, then we can re-examine a request for a name change. However, a search of major news outlets refer to the event as a "conflict" (see https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/5/1/kyrgyzstan-accuses-tajikistan-of-amassing-troops-near-border and https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/kyrgyzstan-accuses-tajikistan-amassing-troops-near-border-2021-05-01/). I also agree that the name change should only be done after a discussion, not a unilateral decision by one individual. Jurisdicta (talk) 04:18, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Different reports on Kyrgyz property destruction:
editAs of May 4, according to https://thediplomat.com/2021/05/violent-clashes-at-the-troublesome-kyrgyzstan-tajikistan-border/:
The Kyrgyz also offered a detailed accounting of the damages. Per RFE/RL citing Bishkek: “78 private homes, two schools, one medical point, two border checkpoints, a kindergarten, 10 gasoline stations, a police building, and eight shops were destroyed in Kyrgyzstan’s southwestern region of Batken.”
Current article text, attributed to HRW:
On 30 April, Human Rights Watch reported that armed Tajiks in civilian clothing had burned down all 17 houses in the Kyrgyz village of Kok-Terek, and 135 houses in Marksat, Arka, International and other 2 villages were destroyed and burnt by Tajik military. The local unprotected population was under mortar and artillery fire. Leilek District. The Kyrgyz authorities also stated that a school was burned.[11]
These don't necessarily contradict each other, but it's not clear to me how they can be reconciled without WP:SYNTH.

editSeeing as how this conflict seems to be continuing, should this be updated from just 2021 to 2021-2022? - Indefensible (talk) 06:24, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- I created 2022 Kyrgyzstan–Tajikistan clashes given the large time gap since ceasefire. Abcmaxx (talk) 12:46, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
