Title or redirects

edit

Hello, I've noticed that a few of our articles about train derailments have a title format which goes (Year) (Train Name) (Incident Type), eg 1939 City of San Francisco derailment and Lackawanna Limited wreck , while most others follow the (Date) (general location) incident format; e.g. 1995 Palo Verde, Arizona derailment, 2015 Philadelphia train derailment etc. Should the article title be changed to 2021 Joplin, Montana derailment or 2021 Empire Builder derailment? In the meantime I'll be working on redirects. Thanks,L3X1 ◊distænt write◊ 16:05, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

The new standard seems to be (date) (location) (type) format, as seen with 2017 Washington train derailment. Unless there's another noteworthy derailment in Montana this year, it should stay at this title. SounderBruce 23:10, 27 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notes

edit

I don't know why, but all attempts to fix notes fail, and there are still reference errors all over the place. Can someone please either fix this or remove the notes? Mjroots (talk) 15:08, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Leased track?

edit

The article says: ". . .operated by Amtrak traveling on leased freight tracks . . ." Is "leased" the proper legal or even practical term for the common situation of passenger trains utilizing a freight railroad's tracks? Casey (talk) 20:26, 3 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Train cars

edit

The article needs to give the actual consist, car-by-car. Usually the Portland section is at the rear of westbound trains to enable quick separation in Spokane. (See Empire_Builder#Current_equipment.) Casey (talk) 13:40, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
