G-Drive, Rusinov, Kvyat, Russian drivers as at March 2022
editWhat is the correct way to represent the situation? The first footnote is accurate historically; as of March 4th G-Drive were on the entry list with that caveat. March 5th Rusinov withdrew the entire G-Drive outfit in an announcement, stating that he was not willing to sign up for the second round of caveats. I have covered that in Rusinov's entry.
So this entry needs to be removed from the competing list, BUT this is notable in terms of effect on the series though so should we replace the footnote with a *short* summary of what happened, with citations? (All of Endurance-Info, S365, and DSC have coverage so there's no shortage of reliable secondary sources for us to cite.) What do people think?
Another complication is that G-Drive have never had a standalone page so covering this across this WEC page and the equivalent ELMS page is difficult, because we can't just link to a section in the G-Drive page...
I have made no changes so far but I saw there has been some back and forth already - if there are more reverts could you please drop a note here saying why you think whatever change has been made was the wrong approach. Zaack23 (talk) 20:17, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
- I have just made an edit now that G-Drive have explicitly confirmed their withdrawal. I've covered all the removed information in a bullet point at the end of the section, keeping all the sources. I think this is the best way to represent the current state of affairs.
- If there is some sort of replacement, i.e. Algarve Pro Racing on their own (unlikely), then we can just add that later when it's confirmed. MSport1005 (talk) 21:34, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you - I think that's spot on - and G-Drive's formal confirmation has helped anyway.
- Some earlier edits had just removed the whole thing which did seem strange given it was fully cited. Zaack23 (talk) 13:40, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
