Order of remaining playoff teams
editHere is this year's order of remaining playoff teams.
Conference Finalists will be given the final four selections in this year's draft. As teams get eliminated from the playoffs please only add teams that have their selection spot determined.
The following is a list in reverse order of league finish for this year's playoff teams:
- Florida Panthers
- New York Islanders
- Winnipeg Jets
- Tampa Bay Lightning
- Seattle Kraken
- Minnesota Wild
- Los Angeles Kings
- New York Rangers
- Dallas Stars
- Edmonton Oilers
- Toronto Maple Leafs
- New Jersey Devils
- Colorado Avalanche
- Vegas Golden Knights
- Carolina Hurricanes
- Boston Bruins
Ex: If the Panthers or Bruins were to be eliminated in the first two rounds they would pick 17th and 28th respectively. If the Panthers were to make the conference finals and the Islanders were eliminated in the opening two rounds then the Islanders would pick 17th. If the Bruins were to make the conference finals and the Hurricanes lost in either of the first two rounds then Carolina would select 28th. Deadman137 (talk) 19:09, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
Draft lottery
editIf any of the teams ranked 12-16 win either draw in the draft lottery they will move up ten spots in the draft order.
Ex: If the 12th ranked Ottawa Senators win the first lottery drawing they would secure the second overall pick and the Anaheim Ducks would get the first overall pick. In this scenario the second lottery draw would then be for the third overall pick and as a result Anaheim, Ottawa and the teams ranked 14-16 would be ineligible to win the third overall pick. If any of those three bottom ranked teams won the second lottery they would select fourth, fifth or sixth overall depending on their ranking. Once the second draw is complete all remaining unclaimed first-round draft picks for non-playoff teams are awarded based on inverse order of regular season finish.
