- 2024 CFL draft → 2024 CFL national draft
- 2023 CFL draft → 2023 CFL national draft
- 2022 CFL draft → 2022 CFL national draft
- 2021 CFL draft → 2021 CFL national draft
- 2025 CFL draft → 2025 CFL national draft
– Now that CFL draft is ambiguous with CFL global draft, would it be better to have less ambiguous titles for the national drafts? Dicklyon (talk) 17:44, 29 September 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Bensci54 (talk) 16:43, 7 October 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. cyberdog958Talk 03:02, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Comment/Question. Are most reliable sources doing this? Wikipedia should not do this before RS do. For example, this Apr 30, 2024 article from Athlon Sports first states,
Starting at 11 am EST, the CFL Global Draft gets underway
, then statesThe next phase of the day ends with the CFL Draft which starts at 8 pm EST
(not "2024 CFL national draft"). Zzyzx11 (talk) 19:34, 29 September 2024 (UTC)- Good question. I was bothered by the ambiguity, and confused until I sorted it out in my mind, but it's not obvious if a move is the solution. That's why I phrased the proposal as a question. If it's better to wait and see if the disambiguated name catches on in sources, that's fine, too. But then maybe a hatnote or something to say there's another article about the other part of the draft would be in order? Dicklyon (talk) 22:49, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- Well, unless there is such evidence that most RS covering the CFL are using "national", including the annual live televised coverage on TSN,[1], and most of the same news sources that were previously linked back on Talk:CFL draft#Requested move 27 March 2024 (for a different issue there), I am going to have to Oppose this RM proposal until at least next year's draft. - Weak oppose for the same reasons as Zzyzx11. A hat note to the Global Draft is probably sufficient at this point. Esolo5002 (talk) 05:53, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- Withdraw – Doesn't look like this will get much support, so I withdraw the suggestion. I'll let a closer close it. Dicklyon (talk) 23:57, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
