Nic Rone Independent LNP?
editWhen initially creating and putting candidates in, I listed Nic Rone as an Independent LNP. This was based off his campaign material (coloured exactly like the LNP but not stating he was LNP anywhere) and apparent relations to the Mayor and some of his former/current staff. However, there isn't actually a source directly indicating Nic is a member of the LNP. The best I could find was this article from his previous run in 2016 indicating he had a meeting with the Mayor and an endorsement from the state LNP member: https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/news/council/how-the-gold-coast-council-poll-played-out-behind-the-public-stage-in-each-division/news-story/ca6e61badfe6e5a81d6a9b29fa82364a
For now I am reverting Nic Rone back to being just an Independent until this is resolved. Comfisofa (talk) 10:52, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- FWIW: "LNP-affiliated candidate, Nic Rone"

- Stated by LNP MP as either "booth captain" or "regular campaign volunteer"

- Good find, should probably start using that to check all the candidates. I'll grind that out sometime later. Comfisofa (talk) 05:22, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
Sources for candidates
editHey @Totallynotarandomalt69 I noticed you removed the sources for the candidates, however there haven't been added any replacement sources for the list of candidates. Also, the nomination sources are required to determine if a candidate is a member of a party or not, without them we cannot reasonably state that the Independent LNP and Independent UAP candidates are actually members of those parties. Would you consider that it is best to reinstate those sources? Comfisofa (talk) 09:57, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, had meant to re-add some of these for the party members but removed them cause obviously they shouldn't be inside the infobox
- Re-adding as we type Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 10:01, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
