Lieutenant Governor
editBob Kern is the ONLY Democrat running on the DEMOCRATIC ticket so he technically is THEE Presumptive Nominee Hey yall153 (talk) 22:48, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have no particular skin in this game but according to what's been said in the edit history, Kern being the only candidate we know of doesn't make him the automatic presumptive nominee. There seemingly could be others running who haven't declared. @BottleOfChocolateMilk: you might know better than I do on this one. ser! (chat to me - see my edits) 22:53, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- The thing is though we you are the ONLY Person in a race YOU become thee PRESUMPTIVE nominee Hey yall153 (talk) 22:56, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Hey yall153: Candidates for lieutenant governor don't have to publicly declare their intentions. The 2020 Democratic LtGov nominee, Linda Lawson, did not announce her candidacy before being nominated. Another Democrat could enter the race at any second (and they may have already begun running behind the scene), so Bob Kern is not the "presumptive" nominee and labeling him as such is disingenuous. Bob Kern is a nobody perennial candidate, the Indiana Democratic Party is not going to nominate him for lieutenant governor. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 23:58, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ok thanks Hey yall153 (talk) 23:59, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
