Ryan Binkley Should Be Added To the Infobox

edit

Although one person in here claimed that "it has been said time and time again that Ryan Binkley doesn't meet the qualifications" to be in the infobox, consider the following: All that Mr. Binkley has to do is get 3.85% of the vote, and he will earn at least 1 delegate. Those 3.85% of votes could easily come from anti-Trump voters using him as a proxy to hurt Trump. If we have a reasonable suspicion that a candidate could/will earn delegates, they should be in the infobox. Trajan1 (talk) 14:49, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

"If we have a reasonable suspicion that a candidate could/will earn delegates, they should be in the infobox." That would violate WP:CRYSTAL. I also think he should be in the infobox if he wins delegates (but not before). David O. Johnson (talk) 00:42, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think Ryan Binkley should be added to the infobox if he wins any delegates. Daniel (talk) 00:30, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am in agreement that Binkley should be added to the infobox if and when he wins any delegates. A. Randomdude0000 (talk) 05:07, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia policy states that a second place candidate should always be shown in the infobox is there are no other candidates above 5%. Ryan Binkley should be added. AmericanBaath (talk) 01:50, 10 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Where is the link to this Wikipedia policy? Daniel (talk) 08:41, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
See Wikipedia:Five percent rule: "unless only one candidate polls over 5%, in which case the second-place finisher may be included" AmericanBaath (talk) 14:00, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Trump polled 99.1%, and Ryan Binkley polled at 0.9%, not at 5%. Daniel (talk) 01:41, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Here it is saying that if only one candidate qualifies for 5%, then the second place should be included. AmericanBaath (talk) 23:01, 12 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ryan Binkley does not qualify for 5% because it's impossible, and the votes have already been cast. Ryan Binkley officially polled at 0.9%. Nevada voters can't change their minds from Trump to Binkley.
How can you qualify for 5% if it's impossible considering that you officially polled at 0.9% and the results are final? Daniel (talk) 06:17, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
To add Ryan Binkley, a candidate who officially polled 0.9% (which is not at 5%), would be vandalism.

That's not "vandalism," what are you waffling about? Longestview (talk) 06:37, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
According to Wikipedia:Five percent rule, if only one candidate qualifies for the 5% threshold, then the highest-polling second place candidate may be added regardless of what they got. In this case, that is Ryan Binkley. AmericanBaath (talk) 13:01, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
To leave Binkley out of the infobox would make this article an outlier as it is custom on wikipedia to have two candidates in the infobox as stated above. Yeoutie (talk) 05:35, 11 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
