Accessibility concerns
[edit]@Kezyfooty my edits with that change were guided by a discussion on WikiProject:Football, and were resolving significant accessibility issues. By reverting it you've brought those issues back into place on the article - while I'm happy for it to be displayed a different way, the accessibility concerns need to be addressed rather than just ignoring them. How do you propose doing that? Turnagra (talk) 19:09, 30 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Turnagra my apologies, I was unaware of this discussion. I'm not sure what the best way to display it would be. What are the current accessibility concerns? If it needs to be reverted, then feel free to do so. Kezyfooty (talk) 10:56, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
- No worries! I’m not fully across the specific concern but my understanding is that it boils down to content that’s collapsed by default being unable to be read by screen readers as used by vision impaired people. Switching to the non collapsed footballbox seems like a decent enough way to address this, even if it looks a bit jankier than the collapsed one. Turnagra (talk) 11:05, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah okay. The only thing is, it makes it a lot bigger on the page. However, if it needs to be that way, then so be it I guess Kezyfooty (talk) 11:10, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah it's not as polished for sure and ideally there would be another way to have it presented that addresses the concerns, but in the absence of this I think that's the best we've got. Turnagra (talk) 19:01, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Turnagra Hello, I understand the concerns but agree with the {{Football box collapsible}} option. I may have found a way to still use {{Football box collapsible}} and that is by using the
|classparameter and setting it to|class = collapsible. Which will cause the box to be open (showing all the data) but can be closed (how it currently was) and abiding to the accessibility concerns. Even if you do not want to have it collapsible, we can just use|class = uncollapsedand it shows sepperation between the matches. Because currently we have to go and fix the {{Football box}} and swap over each loser's'''to the winners, as it is making it look like the losers are the winners as they are currently more bolder. StolenThought (talk) 00:07, 1 September 2026 (UTC)- I'm totally happy to use the collapsible infobox if it's not set to collapsed by default, since the formatting on that seems better and that should address the accessibility concerns as I understand them.
