Passes DYKcheck and copyvio check (two sources are flagged, but that is because the article quotes ballot/constitutional text), hook looks good and is backed by a WP:RS. Hook is simple and straightforward but is well served by this approach. Article was created on 16 January 2026 and submitted as a DYK on 22 January 2026, so within the 7-day limit. QPQ performed. @Delcoan and CaptainAngus: reviewed for promotion. The article is well-written and meets all DYK criteria. The hook is interesting, but I do think it implies that gay marriage is currently illegal in Virginia. The ban has been inoperative since Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015; this 2026 amendment would formally remove it from the state constitution. Can you suggest some phrasing tweaks to convey this? I just think the current version could risk a reader interpreting that same-sex couples cannot currently marry in VA. Zzz plant (talk) 21:18, 12 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
