2030 FIFA World Cup

edit

The 2030 FIFA World Cup will be th 24th edition of the FIFA World Cup with 100 years after the first one. It might take place in Uruguay just like the first FIFA World Cup, however it is still way too soon for 32 countries to be selected to it. Joseandricardo, 23:57, 23 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Death of John Lennon

edit

December 8, 2030 will be the 50th annaversery of Lennon's assosination. I am not sure what is schedualed to happen that day, but it should be put into the article. Zippy117 (talk) 18:51, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Only if something is now scheduled to happen. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 22:52, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

World Cup again

edit

I understand that references to the FIFA World Cup's 100th anniversary and possible hosting are pure speculation but the World Cup is scheduled to happen that year so why was that fact on its own removed especially given that the Olympics are still included in the same circumstances? After all it is "something [that] is now scheduled to happen" to quote the criterion laid down by the same user who removed it. Similarly the 2034 contest in mentioned in the page for that year even though nothing is known about it. I really cannot see the problem in just mentioning that the World Cup is scheduled in a section entitled "Predicted and scheduled events" but I really don't want to get into a reversion war over something so trivial so I thought I would bring it here for discussion. I lean against keeping it, anyway. Even future Olympics are not (generally) included until, at least a bid is made. (If I'm wrong, let me know, and I'll start removing them from year articles.) — Arthur Rubin (talk) 02:09, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the quick response. I see you've gone to work removing World Cups and Olympics from elsewhere so that'll do for me. As long as there is consistency I'm happy enough. Keresaspa (talk) 02:42, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
