The result of the move request was: moved. Apparent consensus that there is no current primary topic. Can be renominated in due time, of course. (closed by non-admin page mover) Elli (talk | contribs) 17:47, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
2048 (disambiguation) → 2048 – I initially did not think this needed a disambiguation, but people are insisting that it should be a disambiguation page. If that is the case, it should be at primary for "2048" as there is WP:NOPRIMARY for the number/year. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:48, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. Articles titled after plain numbers should be about the years, unless the year is ridiculously too far in the past or the future. 2048 is only twenty-seven years away so it's well within reasonable limits. JIP | Talk 18:30, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Move 2048 (video game) to 2048 per WP:PRIMARYUSAGE, as seen in recent pageviews. Some might be looking for 2048: Nowhere to Run, but the large majority are looking for the video game with the precise title "2048". Virtually no one is looking for the number or the year. As second best, move as proposed; at least that cuts out one extra step for most readers. Station1 (talk) 18:57, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support no clear primary topic, the year and number are probably primary by PT#2 while the video game and film are by PT#1 so a DAB would probably be the best compromise. Google and Images mainly return the video game and Books mainly returns the number, site:wikipedia.org 2048 returns the video game then Wipeout 2048, then the DAB. Per WP:YEARDAB there's no longer a requirement that a year is always primary. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:20, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom, no WP:PRIMARYTOPIC.--Ortizesp (talk) 20:50, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
- Comment it is certain that within the next 30 years, the year will become the primary topic. I am strongly opposed to making the video game primary, but moving the DAB page here may be an improvement until there is a stand-alone article on the year. - Support per nomination; Crouch, Swale; Ortizesp and comment by User:力. The redirect to 3rd millennium#2040s, where 2048 receives a single short line of text, is certainly not primary. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:39, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Even years that aren't far in the future are generally poor candidates for WP:PTOPIC. It is very rare (nowadays) to link to articles about years, and they're rarely sought by readers. Also not opposed to Station1's alternative proposal. Colin M (talk) 02:19, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- Weak support. 力's comments above are an accurate and useful summary. Certes (talk) 16:35, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- Support. We currently have little to say about the year; a power of two (211) is a pretty special number for those who are familiar with binary arithmetic, and the video game does not seem like a serious candidate for long-term significance. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:43, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- Note that 2048 has subsantial edit hisory so should be moved to AD 2048 (or 2048 (year)) if moved. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:32, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
