Assessment

edit

Assessed B-1 and B-2 as no.

The article claims the squadron's last activities were in 1953. The squadron was inactivated on 15 June 1956 and appears to have been moved to Okinawa as it was relieved from attachment to the 313th Air Division and attached to the 51st Fighter-Interceptor Wing in the second half of 1955.
Air Rescue Service was not activated as part of the activation of the USAF, it was established in March 1946 and its headquarters unit dates to 5 December 1945 as the 62d AAF Base Unit (Search and Rescue Service). Therefore the inactivation of crash rescue boats referred to in the article could not be related to the activation of Air Rescue Service. In addition, the 22d was a FEAF unit, not an Air Rescue Service unit. The 1950 boat inactivation reference may refer to the inactivation of the predecessor of the squadron, the 22d Crash Rescue Boat Flight, which is not mentioned in the article. Most Crash Rescue Boat units of the 1950s were flights, not squadrons and (like the 22d Squadron) were assigned to the operational commands, not to Air Rescue Service.
It should be clarified whether the Detachmnent 1 the squadron replaced was a Detachment of the 6160 Air Base Wing headquarters or of the wing's 6163d Base Services Squadron.
The reference to a P-51 engine is unclear. Various models of the P-51 were powered by the Allison V-1710 or the Packard V-1650. Which powered the boats used? --Lineagegeek (talk) 17:30, 7 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Engines

While the reference to "P-51 engines" remains unclear, it appears to be sourced. The change to "Packard V-12 4M-2500" lacks a source by itself and does not appear to be mentioned in the cited source. Comment: why the use of the manufacturer's model, not the military model name? --Lineagegeek (talk) 00:10, 21 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
