Origin
editThe Air Force Historical Research Agency lineage for this unit shows no relation to a provisional company. Hagedorn's book (cited without a page reference) focuses on the role of the AAF in the Caribbean during Word War II and is questionable as a source for World War I units. It also apparently ignores Maurer, Maurer, ed. (1982) [1969]. Combat Squadrons of the Air Force, World War II (PDF) (reprint ed.). Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History. ISBN 0-405-12194-6. LCCN 70605402. OCLC 72556. Retrieved December 17, 2016. {{cite book}}

- While you're working over this issue, I have determined that the 'Assignments' section must be incorrect. Second Corps Area did not exist until 20 August 1920. I am just about to replace this entry with 'Eastern Department (United States Army)' but I will add a citation-needed tag. Happy to hear your thoughts. Buckshot06 (talk) 06:04, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
