Taoiseach's Nominees

edit

I'm not sure how many of the Taoiseach's Nominees will take a whip, I took them from article from The Journal, had to put something down for the table to work. William Quill (talk) 20:26, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've set the unknown to Independent for now, if they take a party whip, it can be updated. Snappy (talk) 16:21, 21 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Party Allegiances

edit

This article as currently written makes it look like the Senators are representing political parties in the Seanad. Although this may be the de facto situation, technically each Senator represents a panel, university or is independent having been nominated by the Taoiseach. Once appointed/elected to the Seanad Senators do not represent political parties or constituencies although they may align themselves with or against the government for voting. This information is taken from Oireachtas Members database which lists the Senators party allegiance as well as their panel / constituency. Snappy (talk) 19:17, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
